Introduction to Project "Puffer (fish)", also known as the Fix&Go Adapter

With our latest product, the 'Fix&Go Adapter,' everyone can now safely attach their awning, simple pole awning, or even 180°/270°... awning to the ground using our Peggy products. Read more about the new product here.

What was the problem?
More and more campers asked us to come up with a good solution to safely secure their awning with a round pole.
Although simple solutions are available, they often lack sufficient grip or other necessary features. In addition, some solutions require modifications to the tent pole, which we do not recommend. In some cases, existing solutions were able to secure the pole, but did not allow for proper storage in the original housing or were extremely heavy.

How did we come up with the idea?
Last year in April, Samy and Gerard visited our Australian partners for market research. They wanted to identify the market, understand the size of the potential market and see if we could come up with a suitable Peggy Peg solution.

How it all started
After thorough research and input from our customers, we realised the need for a suitable solution. Gerard and Cristian started investigating possible solutions while thinking about how it would fit into the Peggy Peg formula. Achim, Samy and Alan soon joined the project, and it became a joint effort to create a lightweight, easy to use, foolproof, recognisable, adaptable and easy to remove solution for multiple pole diameters.

How it works?
This pole adapter fits poles with diameters between 18mm and 27mm, making it compatible with most common tent poles.
It allows the poles to be secured using a tent peg or our Fix&Go system/anchor plates.

The adapter is designed to be so small and compact that it fits effortlessly back into the awning bag or cassette without any worries. However, if it doesn’t, it can be removed in seconds (Fix&Go).

Why "puffer"?
Naming a product is an important task and depends on many factors. Since we couldn't agree on a name and didn't want to commit yet, we thought of a nice/catchy word to describe its function.
Since diving is a passion within the Peggy Peg family, we decided to use the puffer fish as a reference. A puffer fish can quickly expand, but also shrink back to its original size. This led to the project being called "Puffer", and we could start brainstorming, designing and testing.

So is it called "Puffer"?
No, "Puffer" will always be the nickname of this product (we even have a puffer fish cartoon character for it), but the real name is "Fix&Go Adapter".

Why "Fix&Go Adapter"?
For several reasons. First of all, it adapts to most common tent poles (18-27 mm inner diameter).
The adapter is easily fixed by screwing it into the tent pole by hand ('Fix'), it is also easy to remove by unscrewing it again ('Go').
And it allows the user to use our Fix&Go Anchor Plate 2.0 to properly secure your awning.
