FAQ
Do I have to screw the pegs into the ground up to the head?
A standard peg (the simple metal pin) must traditionally always be hammered into the ground up to the head, purely to prevent the peg from wriggling out of the ground due to the "leverage".
With our unique Peggy Peg screw pegs, however, this is no longer necessary, our system is characterised by a "height adjustment".
You can screw the orange screw pegs into the ground vertically by hand or with the cordless drill (in the slip position). If you feel that the peg is "stuck", then stop. After all one of the basic rules for Peggy Peg is STUCK = STUCK!
You can then hook the blue clip as low as possible to the peg, at ground level. This keeps the line taut and prevents the "leverage".
How strong are the Peggy Peg screw pegs?
The fibreglass reinforced plastic polyamide is very flexible and extremely strong, but it is not unbreakable.
Therefore, always set the cordless drill to a lower torque. The screw pegs will find their way into harder underlays. If the drill slips, the correct position has been reached and you no longer need to screw deeper. Place the height adjustment (blue) hooks and you are done.
For extremely hard surfaces or frozen ground, pre-drilling with a smaller size Peggy Peg OR with the Peggy Peg pre-drill (stone drill) is recommended. Peggy Peg screw pegs can then easily be screwed into this pre-drilled hole with the Kombi Tool alu or with the cordless drill.
The hook system is extremely strong. In a test, on sloping terrain, a van was pulled along with ropes that were connected to each other with the blue hook belonging to the Peggy Peg screw peg.
Which peg for hard, rocky ground?
The idea behind the new hammer-screw peg (HP61) is as simple as it is ingenious. In rocky ground, pegs are often hammered into the ground with force. Either you use a peg and pre-drill the holes, or you force a rock peg (nail peg) into the ground.
Only standard pegs do not have sufficient grip in rocky ground, because they are often loosened by the leverage effect of the wind. Our new Peggy Peg product must combine two properties: a robust peg that can withstand great forces and a peg that offers more grip than a rock peg.
Our solution: Peggy Peg Hardcode hammer- screw peg.
It is the only Peggy Peg peg that can be used with a hammer. It can be easily unscrewed with a cordless drill or with a hand wrench (KombiTool).
Lighter than a conventional metal rock peg, but with 10x better grip!
Specially developed for rocky ground, ideal for compacted rubble.
The round head makes it possible to change the direction of the point when driving in. By using the height-adjustable hooks, you do not have to drive the peg into the ground up to the head.
Pre-drilling is still recommended for particularly hard surfaces, especially in winter.
When it is time to move, simply unscrew - it is that easy.
The Peggy Peg Hardcore pegs can be combined with the rest of the Peggy Peg range.
What is the CROC Adapter
The Peggy Peg CROC Adapter is made of high-quality flexible PE and fits perfectly with the Crocodile Peggy. Slid them together on the rails of the awning and hang your storm strap, towel of camping lamp on it.
The set includes blue sleeves, which can be attached to the CROC Adapter with a bayonet lock. This also makes the Adapter suitable for the tent rails of your camper or caravan.
This way you can hang a towel as a sunshade in front of a window in no time. Or with the help of a few Crocodile Peggys you can attach an insulation cover for winter storage.
